Today was a travel day from A Coruña in Galicia on the northwest coast of Spain to Toledo in Castille, south of Madrid in central Spain. Three trains and two taxis. The second train, from Santiago de Compostela to Madrid, was a high-speed train, traveling at just over 153 mph at its fastest time.
4.9 miles walking for the day.

Wendy Hendry: Toledo looks awesome. I loved the lit up buildings. You two are having tooo good a time. Wendy2022/10/27
Reply Thanks, Wendy. Both Richard and I had been to Toledo but not together. It turned out to be a real surprise—so much to see that out three nights we’re not really enough. We loved both daytime and nighttime viewing. Surprisingly, it was not until our last night that we discovered we could go to our hotel’s rooftop to see the best lit cathedral view. More to come!2022/10/27
Dan Hendry: Glad you were able to spend some time in Toledo. Our visit was a day trip and we only got to see a small portion of what we wanted to see. Such a large city I’m sure you’ll get your usual 10 mile walk in just getting around the city!Dan2022/10/27
Reply Not quite 10 miles but there’s a lot of standing too. There is so much to see that we could have stayed longer. It was wonderful to have no rain and mild temperatures. 2022/10/27
