2026 Iceland/Scotland Cruise
First to Brussels, Belgium, then returning to Margraten and Nijverdal to celebrate Memorial Day with Jan’s cousins Mary and Jorge Font and the Dutch Hodiamont family who take care of Uncle Roy’s grave.
Next off to Rotterdam and Amsterdam joined by Richard’s sister, Ann, and then embarking on a 14-day cruise through Scotland and Iceland round-trip from Amsterdam.
After an overnight ferry to England, we will join friends Simon, Emma and Hayley, and visit York, England before walking one week of the Cleveland Way and then one week of the Oswald Way with Simon.
Finally, we will continue some sightseeing in Hexham and Durham before flying home from Manchester, England through Denver.
2025 Ireland, N. Ireland, England, Wales, France, Netherlands, Italy
A hiking trip to western Ireland and Northern Ireland. Off to England and Wales to visit friends and hike, then visit southeast England to ferry to Normandy.
Looking forward to visiting Netherlands sights to remember Jan’s uncle who died in the final days of WWII and is buried in the American cemetery in Margraten. We will be hosted by Memory Museum staff in Njiverdal and the Dutch couple who have adopted the Margraten grave.
After a short stop at Aachen, Germany, we’ll have a base stop in Paris where we can enjoy day trips, and then head to Italy: Milano, Assisi, and Rome.
The ride home is a repositioning cruise from Civitavecchia to Fort Lauderdale, FL.
2024 Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Italy
Exploring Zurich, Lucerne, and Berner Oberland area of Switzerland. Visiting Innsbruck, Austria, then train to Bernried, Germany to begin the King Ludwig Way hike to Fussen.
Continue Bavaria to South Tyrol hike from Germany across Austria to Italy at Muran.
Explore the Dolomites area at Bolzano and San Candida.
Train to Ljubliana, Slovenia, Budapest, Hungary, Vienna, Austria, then Cesky Krumlov and Prague, Czech Republic.

Walking the Via Francigena from Lucca to Vatican City.
Visiting friends in Cesena, Senigallia, and Marina di Ravenna.
Homebound trip via repositioning cruise Civitavecchia to New York City with stops at Herculaneum, Cinqueterra, Cannes, Cadiz, and Fatima.
2022 Camino Portuguese
Walking the Camino Portuguese from Lisbon to Santiago de Compestela, then onward to Fisterra, Muxia, A Coruna.
Flying Madrid to Tenerife to visit friends.
Homebound trip fyling Tenerife through Mainz, Germany, then Frankfort home.
