St. Cuthbert lived as a hermit and died on Inner Farne Island. This chapel is later, but recognizes the importance of Northumberland saints. (L-R) St. Aidan, St. Cuthbert holding the head of St. Oswald, and St. Edfrith who created the Lindisfarne gospels.
Arctic terns are nesting, sometimes very close to the trail, and this is why visitors are being pecked.

It’s amazing to see all the different birds together. Most did not bother each other, except the gulls that tried to steal the catch from the puffins.
