Cesena to Bologna to Lucca

Early morning breakfast and then goodbyes. Daniele and Georgia drove us to catch our train connections between Bologna and Lucca.

Ciao good friends until we see each other again!

Barbara and her mother, Maria. Maria is an outstanding chef and began making her own pasta at six years old when she stood on a chair to reach the table. She still makes all her own wonderful pasta, usually allowing one day for it to dry.
Barbara and Elisa stayed home to get ready for the week and focus on schoolwork. Elisa is an outstanding English middle school student who will host a French exchange student soon and travel herself to France in the Spring.
Georgia is a university student studying Electrical Engineering.
In Lucca, we visited the new Pilgrim Museum.
A city gate within the walls.
The church of San Martin. We will visit tomorrow.
Dinner in the piazza outside San Martin. We had skipped lunch so we enjoyed an excellent meal.

Kathy Nichols: You can sure tell Maria and Barbara are mother and daughter! As always Jan, great photos. Looking forward to more…2023/10/14 at 3:48 am

Reply: Barbara resembles her mother in more than just looks. She is an only child and they live in a house with two apartments. Barbara is very caring, as is her mother. They both have a wry sense of humor that I really enjoy. 2023/10/14 at 5:55 am
