NYC to Lisbon

Tonight we fly to Lisbon, but before that we decided to visit the area around the World Trade Center in New York. The reflecting pools are being prepared for this weekend’s 21st anniversary.

One World Trade Center
One World Trade —the tallest building on Manhattan and the Western Hemisphere at 110 floors.
Yellow flowers for birthdays
Yellow roses are added in honor of each victim’s birthday.
oculus
The Oculus, ground zero’s shopping and transportation hub. The goal was to bring commuters and tourists back to the area and memorialize the area.

Inside, there is light, activities, and a rib structure reminiscent of the destroyed twin towers.
World Trade Center train station
Some have named this the most expensive train station. Still, it was comfortable and convenient and served about 250,000 commuters each work day.
